Physics tutoring

Most physics problems are maths problems wearing a lab coat. That is where the marks go.

IGCSE and O Level Physics, AS and A-Level Physics, IB Physics at Higher and Standard Level, Common Core and AP Physics, Canadian Grade 9 to 12 Physics and SABIS Physics. Every mentor sat these papers a few years ago. Lessons run online across the UAE or at your home in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Why it works

What makes the difference

  • 01

    The maths under the physics

A student who cannot rearrange a formula, handle standard form or read a gradient will lose physics marks that have nothing to do with physics. Our mentors check that layer in the first lessons, because fixing it changes more grades than another pass through the syllabus does.

  • 02

The practical paper is written, not practical

Every British and IB board examines experimental skill on paper: uncertainties, anomalous results, why a particular control matters, how to improve a method. It is examined the same way every year, it is very learnable, and it is the part schools have least time for.

  • 03

Definitions are marked word by word

Physics mark schemes reward exact phrasing. A student who understands the idea but writes it loosely gets nothing. Mentors who sat the paper recently know which words the scheme is looking for and drill them until they are automatic.

Inside the subject

The four blocks every physics syllabus is built from

Mechanics

Forces, motion, momentum, energy and circular motion, plus the graph work that runs through all of it. This is where the year starts and where most later confusion is traced back to.

Book your first lesson

The order changes between boards, the content barely does. A mentor works out which block is costing marks, then teaches that one against your child's own specification and past papers.

How it works

From first message to a first physics lesson in days

  1. 01

    Tell us the course

The syllabus name and the board are enough: IGCSE Physics with Edexcel, A-Level Physics with Cambridge, IB Physics HL, AP Physics or a SABIS Level. Two minutes is all it takes.

  2. 02

    Meet your mentor

You are matched with a mentor who took that same specification and did well in it. The first lesson follows, online or in your home in either city.

  3. 03

    Watch the marks move

We timetable around school and mock weeks. After each session the parent gets a short progress note. If the match is wrong, the next one is free.

FAQ

Physics tutoring in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, answered

  • 01

How much does a physics tutor cost?

Nothing on our price list is subject specific, so physics costs what any subject costs at that school level. High school is AED 180 an hour on Commitment and AED 200 on Flexible, middle school AED 160 or AED 180. Those figures already carry VAT at 5%. Add AED 30 if you want the lesson taught at home. Every level is on the pricing page.

  • 02

Which physics courses do you cover?

IGCSE and O Level Physics, AS and A-Level Physics, IB Physics at Higher and Standard Level, Common Core and honours physics, AP Physics, Canadian Grade 9 to 12 Physics and SABIS Physics at every Level. All of them are named on our services page.

  • 03

Can one mentor teach physics and maths together?

Often yes, and for many students it is the better arrangement, because the two subjects share so much. Tell us both syllabuses when you write and we will look for a mentor who sat both. If the combination is unusual we will say so and match two mentors instead.

  • 04

Do you cover the practical and the alternative-to-practical papers?

Yes. Experimental skill is examined on paper by every British board and by the IB, and it is one of the most teachable parts of the course: uncertainties, anomalous results, controls and method improvements come up in a predictable way. We work through past practical papers with the official mark scheme.

  • 05

Are lessons online or in person?

Both are available. Mentors travel across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and online teaching covers the rest of the UAE. Many families keep one lesson at home each week and add online sessions in the weeks before mocks and the summer series.

  • 06

    Who are the mentors?

High-performing undergraduates and recent graduates of universities including AUS, AUD, CUD and NYUAD. Many are reading engineering or a physical science, which they reached through the paper your child is sitting now. More about how we select mentors.
