What a private tutor costs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

How our rates work

One rate per school level

Book 6 hours or more for the lowest rate, or stay flexible with no minimum. Every price includes VAT.

Every rate below is per hour, for online lessons, and includes VAT at 5%. Commitment means 6 or more hours in one order, valid for 30 days from purchase, with no rollover after that. Flexible costs a little more per hour, with no minimum and no expiry to plan around: book a single hour and see how it goes.

Prefer lessons at home? Add AED 40 per lesson, same mentor, same rate. Not the right fit? Switch mentors free, any time, no questions asked. Cancel or reschedule free with 2 or more hours’ notice, and pay by bank transfer or payment link, with a receipt every time.

Your child’s rate

One rule for every curriculum and exam

  • 01

    Exams: the high school rate

IGCSE, A-Level, AP, SAT, ACT, EmSAT, IELTS and TOEFL are all AED 180 an hour on Commitment and AED 200 on Flexible, so a 6-hour Commitment order comes to AED 1,080. School entrance exams are the one exception: they follow the level your child is at now, which is AED 140 an hour at primary or AED 160 at middle school on Commitment.

  • 02

Curricula: the year your child is in

In the British curriculum, Years 1 to 5 are the primary rate, Years 6 to 9 middle school and Year 10 upward high school. In the IB, MYP Grades 6 to 8 are middle school, while MYP 4 and 5 and the Diploma Programme are high school. The American curriculum and the Canadian curriculum follow the grade in the same way, and so does SABIS, where the exam years are high school.

  • 03

    Subjects: no difference

Maths, physics, English or Arabic, an hour costs the same at the same level. A child who needs help in two subjects pays one rate for both.

  • 04

    Premium

AED 220 an hour on Commitment and AED 240 on Flexible.

Why the year and not the subject? Because the price is known before anyone knows which subject will need the most help, and a family with a child in two subjects pays one rate, not two.

No extra charges

What you never pay for

  • 01

    Switching mentors

Free, any time, with no questions asked, if the first mentor is not the right fit.

  • 02

    Cancelling with notice

Cancel or reschedule 2 or more hours before a lesson and it costs nothing: the hour stays in your balance. One late cancellation or no-show is forgiven per order.

  • 03

    A minimum on Flexible

There is none. Book a single hour, and Flexible hours never expire.

  • 04

    A lesson we cannot deliver

If we cannot deliver a lesson and offer no replacement, those hours are refunded in full at the rate you paid.

FAQ

Tutoring prices, answered

  • 01

How much does a private tutor cost in Dubai?

From AED 140 an hour at primary level to AED 240 for a Premium lesson on Flexible, with VAT included. Secondary school, including IGCSE, IB and A-Level, is AED 180 an hour on Commitment or AED 200 on Flexible. Prices in Abu Dhabi are the same.

  • 02

Is the price per hour or per lesson?

Per hour of teaching. A Commitment order is 6 hours or more, so 6 hours at the high school rate come to AED 1,080, to be used within 30 days of purchase.

  • 03

    Does the price include VAT?

Yes. Every price on this page includes VAT at 5%, and every payment comes with a receipt.

  • 04

What does a home visit add?

AED 40 per lesson on top of the hourly rate, with the same mentor. Online lessons cost nothing extra.

  • 05

Do IGCSE, IB and A-Level cost different amounts?

No. IGCSE, the IB Diploma Programme and A-Level are all high school level: AED 180 an hour on Commitment and AED 200 on Flexible, whichever board your child sits. The price follows the school year, never the exam.

  • 06

What happens if we stop after one lesson?

On Flexible, you have paid for that hour and owe nothing more. On Commitment, you can ask for a refund of what you paid, minus the hours already used, charged at the Flexible rate.

Book the first lesson. Decide after.

No minimum on Flexible: a single hour with a real mentor, and you decide from there.
