How much does TOEFL preparation cost?

TOEFL sits at the high school rate: AED 180 an hour on a commitment plan, AED 200 an hour flexible, or AED 1,080 for a 6-hour commitment block. Every price includes 5% VAT, and an in-person lesson adds AED 40 to the online rate. Full details are on the pricing page.

What score does TOEFL iBT use?

Since January 2026 the TOEFL iBT reports a band from 1 to 6 for each of reading, listening, speaking and writing, plus an overall band, with a comparable 0 to 120 score shown alongside during the transition. We work backwards from the score your target university lists, so every practice test and every lesson is aimed at that number, not a general improvement.

Is TOEFL preparation online or in person?

Both. Every rate is an online rate, and lessons run online anywhere in the UAE. Mentors also travel to homes across Dubai and Abu Dhabi for an extra AED 40 a lesson, and many families mix the two depending on the week.

Who teaches the TOEFL lessons?

Vetted university mentors, top students and recent graduates from universities including AUS, AUD, CUD and NYUAD, who sat the TOEFL themselves a few years ago and scored highly. They are matched by hand to your child, not assigned automatically.

How soon can lessons start?

A matched mentor is usually confirmed within 48 hours of getting in touch, and the first lesson is normally the same week. If the test date is close, tell us when you message so we can build the plan around it.

What if the mentor is not the right fit?

Durusi rematches the family free of charge, with a new mentor usually matched within 48 hours. Most students improve within weeks of starting, but the real goal is the right fit for your child, not a fast assignment to whoever is free first.

TOEFL preparation fits around a university application timeline, so lessons run online just as easily when travel time works against the schedule, with the same mentor throughout.

Abu Dhabi

Mentors travel to homes on Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. We match on where you live as well as the score your child needs. Lessons move online whenever that suits the run-up to test day better than a drive across the city.

Most TOEFL preparation runs online, and mentors also travel to homes across both cities when a family prefers it in person.
