What makes the difference

The long answer is marked against a list, and the list wants your words
Extended responses are scored point by point against a mark scheme that names the terms it will accept and often the order it wants them in. A student who writes the right idea in loose language, or says the gland instead of naming the hormone, produces a good paragraph and loses most of the marks. Writing the marking point, in sequence, is the single fastest gain in the subject.

Command words are instructions, not decoration
Describe, explain, compare, suggest and evaluate each ask for a different shape of answer, and biology examiners hold the line on it. Explaining when the paper asked you to describe throws away marks a student has already earned. It takes a few weeks to fix and it changes the grade.

Reading is not revising
Biology carries more content than physics or chemistry, which tempts a student into re-reading notes and feeling productive. What moves a grade is retrieving the exact wording under time pressure, on paper, with the book shut. Mentors run the lesson that way instead of lecturing through a textbook.
What the course contains
The four areas every biology syllabus covers
Cells and biochemistry
Cell structure, transport across membranes, enzymes, biological molecules, respiration and photosynthesis. Everything later in the course stands on this, which is why a gap here surfaces in topics that look unrelated to it.
Physiology and body systems
Circulation, gas exchange, digestion, the nervous and endocrine systems, homeostasis. The marks go to a precise chain of cause and effect, written in the right order, rather than to naming the parts.
Genetics and evolution
DNA, protein synthesis, inheritance, variation, natural selection and the biotechnology topics that A-Level, IB Higher Level and AP each carry further. Genetic crosses are one of the few places in biology where marks are won by laying out working.
Ecology, data handling and the practical papers
Ecosystems, nutrient cycles, sampling technique and the statistics that go with it, plus graph reading and the experiment a student has never seen before. These marks go to method and interpretation rather than to memory, so they can be practised directly.
Board to board the names shift and the content does not. A mentor works out which of the four is losing the marks and teaches that one against your child's own specification.

How much does a biology tutor cost?
We charge by school level, not by subject. For high school that is AED 180 an hour if you book on the Commitment plan and AED 200 on Flexible; for middle school, AED 160 or AED 180. All of those already include VAT at 5%. A lesson at your home costs AED 30 more. Every level, primary and premium as well, is set out on the pricing page.

My child revises for hours and the grade does not move. Why?
Almost always because the revision is reading rather than recall. Biology pays for the exact term produced under time pressure, in the shape the command word asked for, and re-reading a chapter trains none of that. A mentor changes how the study session works before adding any new content, which is usually visible in the next mock.

How do you teach the data and graph questions?
With the paper open. Every board sets an experiment or a data set the student has never seen, and the marks there go to reading the axes, describing the trend in the words the scheme uses, spotting the anomaly and saying what the evidence does not show. It is a technique rather than a topic, so it is practised on past questions until the shape of the answer is familiar.

Both, and families mix them. Mentors come to homes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and teach online across the UAE. Biology suits the screen because a mark scheme, a graph and the student's own answer can sit open beside each other.
