Matched on the course, not the subject
"Maths tutor" means very little in the Diploma. Analysis and Approaches HL and Applications and Interpretation SL are different courses, with different papers and different Internal Assessments. We match by course and level, and we say so plainly when we do not have the right mentor for it.
The May session sets the calendar
Almost every Dubai school sits the May examination session, which puts mock weeks in the winter and IA deadlines through the autumn. We plan backwards from those dates, so drafting and revision never land in the same fortnight.
The core is coached, never written
TOK, the Extended Essay and the Internal Assessments carry real points on the 45-point scale, and they are the student's own work. We teach structure, method and the assessment criteria, and give feedback on your child's drafts. We do not write them.
Six groups, HL and SL, plus the core
Mathematics AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science, Business Management, Economics and Psychology, English A and B, Arabic A and B, French B and Spanish ab initio — with the IA, Extended Essay and TOK alongside.
Maths AA & AI
Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, HL and SL, including the mathematical exploration.
Group 4 Sciences
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science: Papers 1 to 3 and the scientific investigation.
Group 3
Business Management, Economics and Psychology: essay technique and the commentaries that carry the IA marks.
Language & the core
English A and B, Arabic A, French B and Spanish ab initio, plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS planning.

Where we teach in person
Emirates Hills, Al Barsha, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Downtown, Business Bay, Dubai Marina, JVC, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Motor City, Mirdif and Deira. In the weeks around mocks and IA deadlines, most families switch some sessions online to buy back the travel time, with the same mentor either way.

How much does an IB tutor cost in Dubai?
Diploma Programme lessons are high-school level: AED 180 per hour at the Commitment rate, or AED 200 Flexible. MYP students in the middle years are AED 160 and AED 180. Every price includes 5% VAT, and in-person lessons add AED 30 each. Full details are on our pricing page.
Do you match on Maths AA and AI, HL and SL?
Yes, and it is the first thing we ask. Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation are separate courses with separate papers, and HL is not simply more of SL. We match mentors by course and level, and if we do not have the right person free that week, we tell you rather than sending someone close enough.
Can you help with the Internal Assessment and Extended Essay?
Yes, as coaching. We work on the research question, the method, the structure and the assessment criteria, and we give feedback on drafts your child has written. We never write any part of the work, because an academic honesty breach costs the whole diploma.
Do you tutor the MYP as well as the Diploma?
Both. For the MYP we work to the criterion-based assessment your school uses, and on the subject and level choices that will shape the Diploma two years later — which is a decision far more families would like a second opinion on than ask for one.
Are lessons online or in person?
Both. We teach in person across Dubai and online anywhere in the UAE. In-person lessons add AED 30 each.
