IB maths tutors in matched to the course, not the subject
IB maths tutoring
Four maths courses. One right mentor for yours.
In the Diploma, a maths tutor is not one thing. Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation are different courses with different papers, each at SL and HL, and we match on the one your child actually takes. Online anywhere in the UAE, or in person across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

What makes the difference
- 01
Course first, then level
Applications and Interpretation is a separate course, not a lighter Analysis and Approaches: separate papers, and its own Internal Assessment, the mathematical exploration. HL is not simply more of SL. We match a mentor who sat the exact course at the level your child takes, and if we do not have the right person free that week, we tell you rather than sending someone close enough.
- 02
Mentors who sat the Diploma recently
Our IB maths mentors are top university students and recent graduates from universities including AUS, AUD, CUD and NYUAD, who sat the IB Diploma themselves a few years ago and scored highly in the maths course they teach. They remember exactly where the marks go: the no-calculator paper, the exploration, and Paper 3 at HL.
- 03
Progress you can see
After every lesson you receive a progress note: what was covered, what improved and what comes next. Sessions are planned backwards from the May session: mock weeks in the winter, the exploration deadline through the autumn. If the fit is not right, we rematch free.
The courses
Pick the course, then the level
Analysis and Approaches SL
The pure-maths route at Standard Level: two papers, one of them without a calculator, and the mathematical exploration, which is worth 20% of the grade. We match a mentor who sat Analysis and Approaches SL and scored highly in it, and plan backwards from the May session.
Analysis and Approaches HL
HL is not simply more of SL: longer papers, deeper proof and calculus, and a third paper of extended problems that is new to most students when they first meet it. The mentor took Analysis and Approaches at HL, and knows which of those problems cost the marks.
Applications and Interpretation SL
A separate course, not a lighter Analysis and Approaches: statistics, modelling and a calculator on every paper, with its own mathematical exploration. The mentor took this exact course, and the plan runs on your school's calendar.
Applications and Interpretation HL
HL adds more statistics, modelling and calculus, and a third paper, with the calculator central throughout. The match is by course first, then level, and the mentor took Applications and Interpretation at HL and scored highly in it.
Not sure which course or level your child is on? The school's course list says it, and so does the predicted grade sheet. Send either on WhatsApp and we match from there. We tutor the MYP years too, and the subject and level choices that shape the Diploma two years later, which is a decision far more families would like a second opinion on than ask for one.

01
Where we teach in person
In Dubai, mentors travel to homes in Emirates Hills, Al Barsha, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Downtown, Business Bay, Dubai Marina, JVC, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Motor City, Mirdif and Deira. In Abu Dhabi they travel to Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif and Al Nahyan. In-person lessons add AED 30 each, same mentor, same rate. When the drive becomes the problem in the weeks before the May session, we move the same mentor online and keep the schedule intact.

02
The schools our students come from
In Dubai, Dubai International Academy in Emirates Hills, GEMS World Academy, North London Collegiate School Dubai, Uptown International School in Mirdif, Deira International School and Universal American School. In Abu Dhabi, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi and ACS Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat, Raha International School and GEMS American Academy in Khalifa City, and Bateen World Academy. Every school in both cities sits the May session, which puts mock weeks in the winter and the exploration deadline through the autumn, so the plan starts from your school's calendar, not a generic one.
We teach in person across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and online anywhere in the UAE.

How it works
From first message to first lesson in days
-
01
Send the course list
Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, SL or HL, the school, and the predicted grade if you have it. WhatsApp or the contact form; two minutes.
-
02
Meet your mentor
We match a mentor who took that exact course at that level and scored well, usually within 48 hours, then arrange the first lesson, online or at your home in either city.
-
03
Watch the grade move
Lessons are planned around mock weeks and the exploration deadline, and you get a progress note after every session. If the fit is not right, we rematch free.
FAQ
IB maths tutoring in Dubai, answered
- 01
How much does an IB maths tutor cost?
IB lessons are high-school level: AED 180 per hour at the Commitment rate, or AED 200 Flexible. Every price includes 5% VAT, and in-person lessons add AED 30 each. Six hours on Commitment is a month's block: AED 1,080, valid 30 days from purchase. Full details are on our pricing page.
- 02
Do you cover both Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation?
Yes, at SL and HL. They are separate courses with separate papers and their own mathematical exploration, so we match by course first, then level, and the mentor took that exact course. If we do not have the right person free that week, we tell you rather than sending someone close enough.
- 03
Is HL just more of SL?
No. HL adds a third paper of extended problems and goes deeper on every topic, so the level is the first thing we ask, along with the course, the school and the predicted grade if you have it.
- 04
Are lessons online or in person?
Both. Online anywhere in the UAE, or in person across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Many families combine the two: an in-person lesson each week, with extra online sessions before the mocks and the May session.
- 05
Who are the mentors?
Top university students and recent graduates from universities including AUS, AUD, CUD and NYUAD, who sat the IB Diploma themselves a few years ago and scored highly in the maths course they teach. Read more about how we select mentors.
- 06
How quickly can my child start?
Usually within days. Send the course, the level and the school, and we match a mentor, usually within 48 hours, and schedule the first lesson, typically the same week. We tutor the MYP years too, and the subject and level choices that shape the Diploma two years later.
