Who we are

Durusi (“we”, “us”) provides private tutoring services in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you share with us through durusi.com, WhatsApp or our booking forms.

What we collect

When you request a lesson we collect contact details (name, phone, email, city) and information about your child’s schooling (school, grade, curriculum, subjects) so we can match an appropriate mentor.

Along with the form we record a small amount of information about your visit: the page you submitted from, the page you first arrived on, which site or search sent you there, a campaign tag if you followed a link that carried one, how many pages you saw, when you first visited, and how long you spent on the page you wrote from. We do not keep a record of which pages you read or how long you spent on each one. Our form is handled by our hosting provider, Netlify, which stores each submission along with the IP address it was sent from. We keep the IP only to block automated abuse and to see roughly which country an enquiry came from.

Our website also uses cookies and analytics tools, specifically Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site. These set cookies in your browser and send Google information about the pages you view, including an identifier that distinguishes your browser from other browsers. That identifier is included with your enquiry so we can see which pages produce genuine enquiries. Google processes this information outside the United Arab Emirates. You can stop it by using your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker, and the site works normally either way. We do not sell this information, we do not combine it with data from any outside source, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

Children

Our service is for children, but our website is for parents. We ask you about your child so we can match a mentor: their school, grade, curriculum and subjects, and their first name when you choose to give it. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child through this website, and a child should not fill in our forms. Only a parent or guardian should send us an enquiry, and by sending one you confirm you are the parent or guardian of the child it concerns.

Information about a child is shared only with the mentor assigned to teach them, and is kept only while we are teaching that child or as long as the law requires. If you would like to see what we hold about your child, correct it, or have it deleted, message us on WhatsApp at +971 50 575 7707 and we will do it.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to enquiries, match and schedule mentors, send lesson updates and invoices, and improve our services and marketing. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Sharing

Relevant details (student first name, grade, subjects, area) are shared with the assigned mentor only. Payment and contact records are kept internally and with our payment providers as required to process transactions. The companies that handle information on our behalf are Netlify, which hosts this website and receives our contact forms, Google, which provides our analytics, and Supabase, which stores our booking records. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with anyone else without your permission unless the law requires it.

Mentor applications

If you apply to become a mentor through the application on our careers page, we collect what the form asks for: your passport and Emirates ID, your student ID if you are still studying, your name, nationality and date of birth as they appear on them, where you live, your phone, WhatsApp and email, your university and course, your high school and its curriculum, your exam results with the board that set each exam, the subjects you can teach, the city you teach in, your permit status and the permit itself if you have it, one photo and one short video, plus the transcripts, diploma, degree and certificates you upload. Your passport and Emirates ID are read automatically by an artificial intelligence service (Anthropic’s Claude) to take your name, nationality and date of birth, and every other document is read the same way to propose your exam rows and to check that the name on it matches your passport; the document numbers are never read or stored; that service processes the file to answer and does not use it to train its models, and you confirm every row yourself. The text of your application is received by Netlify, which hosts this website, and your documents, photo and video are stored on Durusi’s Microsoft 365, where only the two founders can open them. Your video is seen only by the Durusi recruitment team, unless you tick the separate box on the form that lets us show it, with your first name, to families looking for a mentor; that box is optional, it makes no difference to your application, and you can withdraw it at any time by messaging us, after which we stop showing it. We use all of this only to decide whether to invite you to teach and to match you with students, and we keep it after you apply, so that we can contact you when a suitable opening comes up later, and for as long as you are a Durusi mentor. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Applicants must be 17 or over. To see, correct or delete your application at any time, message us on WhatsApp at +971 50 575 7707.

Retention & your rights

We keep records only as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. You may request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at any time by contacting us on WhatsApp at +971 50 575 7707.
