Do you tutor to the weekly AMS tests or the periodics?

Both. Keeping up with the weekly test is one kind of work; a periodic that reaches back over a term is another, and a student can be fine at the first and badly caught out by the second. We read the last periodic breakdown, find the concepts it exposed, and build those into the weekly sessions rather than waiting for the next one.

Which SABIS campuses do you cover?

All three in the capital: the International School of Choueifat in Khalifa City, SABIS International School - Yas Island and SABIS International School Al Bateen. The older Al Mushrif school has closed. Each has its own calendar and its own intake, and Al Bateen is still adding a level a year, so the answer for a senior student there is different. Network schools in other emirates are taught online.

Do you cover the Cambridge papers SABIS students sit?

Yes. Yas Island says plainly that its leavers are prepared for the British IGCSE and AS or A-Level papers as well as AP and SAT, and students on the other campuses are entered too. We teach those papers from Cambridge's own past papers and mark schemes, without dropping the SABIS points being examined the same week.

Recent graduates and current university students, including from NYU Abu Dhabi and the other universities in the capital, who came through these papers themselves not long ago. We match on the subject, the Level, and which side of the bridges they can realistically be on for an evening lesson.

Are lessons online or in person?

Either. In person anywhere in the capital, from Yas and Saadiyat to Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City, at AED 40 more per lesson, and online everywhere else in the UAE. Three campuses in the capital, none of them alike
Abu Dhabi has more SABIS-network schools than anywhere else in the country, and they are at very different stages. Khalifa City opened in 2006, Yas Island in 2015, and Al Bateen in 2024 is the newest of the three. The original Choueifat school in Al Mushrif has closed. Different campuses, different intakes, different weeks. The first thing we ask is which one, because the answer changes the whole plan.

What the regulator here means for a family buying lessons
Schools in the emirate answer to the Department of Education and Knowledge, which inspects them through Irtiqa'a and rates them Outstanding, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, Weak or Very Weak, with Good as the minimum it expects. ADEK's code of ethics also tells school staff they need a private teacher work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation before tutoring outside school hours, and stops a teacher tutoring a child enrolled at their own school. Worth knowing before anyone arranges quiet lessons with someone from the staffroom.

The three campuses, and what is different about each

The International School of Choueifat in Khalifa City is the senior campus in the capital now, open since 2006 and running Pre-KG through to Grade 12. The original Al Mushrif school, which had taught the programme here since 1978, has closed, so families who were there have moved across the network. SABIS International School - Yas Island opened in 2015, also Pre-KG to Grade 12, and prepares its leavers for AP and SAT as well as Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A-Level. SABIS International School Al Bateen, on Ahmed Bin Gibran Al Sweidi Street, is the newest: it opened from Pre-K to Grade 10 and is adding a level a year, so the most senior work is not on that campus yet. If your child is in Grade 11 or 12 there, tell us, because the answer is not the same as it would be on Yas.

Which crossing sits between you and the mentor

Yas Island is about 25 kilometres out from the middle of town, and Al Bateen and Khalifa City are nothing like each other for a weekday drive. The honest question is never the distance, it is the bridge. Someone finishing on Reem can reach Khalifa City for a 7:00 pm start; coming off Saadiyat the other way, they cannot always promise it, and we say so before you book. Homes on Saadiyat, Al Reem and Yas, and in Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Because a SABIS week is an exam week, many families here take a short online session midweek and a longer one at home at the weekend.
