American curriculum
Four years of grades, and not one of them comes off.
Every semester from Grade 9 is written down once and counted forever. We teach the whole of it, Common Core through Honors to Advanced Placement, with mentors who have their own transcript from the same system. At home across the islands, or online.

What makes the difference
- 01
Nothing at the end can rescue the beginning
Families arriving from a British school expect a final exam that settles everything. There is not one. A weak first semester of Grade 9 stays in the cumulative average all the way to the application, softened only by the semesters after it. So the cheapest moment to act is the term nobody is worried about, and the most expensive is the one everybody is.
- 02
Honors and AP are granted, not chosen
Access to Honors and AP classes normally depends on a minimum grade in the previous course and a teacher recommendation, decided in the spring for the year ahead. The grade that determines whether AP Biology is even available is therefore earned long before anyone asks for it. By the time the answer arrives in April the work that would have changed it is months behind.

Here the fork sits inside the school, in Grade 11
The capital is unusual: its American schools also run the IB Diploma, so the choice of route is not settled by choosing a school the way it can be elsewhere. It arrives in Grade 11, and everything before it builds the same transcript whichever way your child eventually goes. That is oddly freeing, and it means Grade 9 and Grade 10 are worth protecting for a reason that has nothing to do with which diploma is picked later.
Across the capital
The grades nobody counts, and the crossing that eats the lesson

01
Kindergarten to Grade 8, before anything is written down
None of these years reaches a transcript, which is the relief and the trap at once. A child can travel all the way to Grade 8 in a strong capital school while quietly guessing at fractions, or writing an argument that never quite lands, and no report will name either. From Grade 9 those same habits start producing marks that stay. Dealing with them while they still cost nothing is the whole case for tutoring this stage.

Which crossing sits between you and the mentor
Homes on Saadiyat, Al Reem and Yas, and inland in Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. American coursework does not build to one exam season; it arrives weekly, all year, which means the slot has to be one that survives a Tuesday in traffic rather than a heroic effort in spring. We match on the bridge before we match on anything else, and move the same mentor online when the hour turns against it.

How it works
Show us the transcript. It answers what a phone call cannot.
- 01
The school, the grade, the last report
Send the report itself rather than a summary of it. The pattern across quarters shows us far more than a description of how this year is going.
- 02
We name the mentor
Someone who took those courses and knows how the grade is really assembled, from homework and quizzes and participation, not only the final. On the right side of the bridges, or online.
- 03
You watch the average move
A written note after every lesson, and the number to watch is the semester average. If the match is wrong we replace the mentor at no extra cost.
FAQ
American curriculum tutoring in Abu Dhabi, answered
- 01
How much does an American curriculum tutor cost in Abu Dhabi?
The grade sets the price, not the course or the campus. AED 140 an hour at elementary, AED 160 through middle school, AED 180 in high school, on the Commitment rate. Flexible is AED 20 more per hour. All figures include 5% VAT, and a mentor coming to you adds AED 30. Everything is on the pricing page.
- 02
My child got a C last semester. Can that be fixed?
Rarely erased. A semester grade goes onto the transcript and the cumulative average carries it for the rest of school. A few schools offer credit recovery, though almost never for a grade that passed. What is still open is every semester after it, and the sooner that work starts the larger the share of the average that has not been written yet.
- 03
When does the choice between AP and the IB Diploma get made?
Later here than most families expect, and that is the useful part. Because the American schools in the capital also run the IB Diploma, the decision usually sits in Grade 11 rather than at the point of choosing a school. Everything before it is the same transcript either way, which is why Grade 9 and Grade 10 matter regardless of which route your child eventually takes.
- 04
Do you teach the elementary and middle grades?
Yes, from Kindergarten. Nothing in those grades reaches a transcript, which is precisely why a weakness in them goes unrecorded until it starts costing permanent marks in Grade 9. The Years 1 to 9 page sets that stage out separately.
- 05
How do you plan around the school calendar?
You will have to send it to us. ADEK requires every school to submit a calendar for approval, but it does not publish one for parents to look up, so the version that arrives in an August email is the only reliable copy. Forward it and assignment deadlines, quarter ends and final weeks all get built into the plan properly.
- 06
Do you teach at home on the islands?
Yes, and inland. Saadiyat, Al Reem and Yas, plus Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City, at AED 30 more per lesson, with online covering the rest of the UAE. American coursework runs weekly rather than in one exam season, so a fixed slot that survives the drive matters more here than a burst of revision in spring.
