SAT prep in Abu Dhabi, built around the digital test

SAT preparation

The paper SAT is gone. Prep that ignores that is wasted money.

The SAT is now two hours and fourteen minutes in the Bluebook app, section-adaptive, and scored 400 to 1600. We prepare students for that test: a diagnostic first, full mocks under real timing, then every missed question reviewed. Online or in person across Abu Dhabi.

Why it works

What makes the difference

  • 01

The test adapts, so the first module matters

Each section runs two modules, and performance on the first decides which second module the app serves next. The higher-difficulty second module is what opens the top of the score range, so a student who coasts through module one caps their own ceiling before module two even starts. We drill accuracy and pacing on module one specifically, because that is where the real work of the test happens.

  • 02

Full mocks, real timing, real app

Students sit complete practice tests inside Bluebook itself, on a screen, with the built-in Desmos calculator, the annotation tool and the answer-elimination tool all switched on. That is exactly how it will be on test day. A score produced on paper in a quiet room with none of that tells us very little, because it is not a rehearsal of the test your child will actually sit.

  • 03

    The review is the lesson

After every mock we build an error log: which question type, which mistake, careless or conceptual, and how long it took. The following sessions target that list directly rather than reworking the whole syllabus from the top. And because there is no penalty for a wrong answer on this test, we also teach the harder skill of when to stop and when to guess sensibly. Then move on to a question worth more time.

Subjects

Both sections, and the strategy over them

Reading and Writing is 54 questions in 64 minutes. Math is 44 questions in 70 minutes, with the calculator available throughout. We cover both sections in full, plus the timing and guessing decisions on test day that quietly cost families the marks a strong student should never lose.

Reading & Writing

Craft and structure, information and ideas, expression of ideas and standard English conventions, all against the clock. The passages are short and the questions come fast, so careful readers still run out of time before running out of ability. Pacing is taught alongside the content.

  1. 01

    Where we teach in person

Mentors travel to homes on Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. We match on where you live as well as what your child is preparing for, because an hour lost in traffic is an hour taken straight out of the lesson. SAT sessions run long enough that this adds up fast across a full programme.

  2. 02

The schools our students come from

Brighton College Abu Dhabi in Bloom Gardens, The British School Al Khubairat in Al Mushrif, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat, Repton Abu Dhabi and Nord Anglia International School on Al Reem. Yasmina British Academy in Khalifa City and Noya British School on Yas Island, among others. School exams and school terms sit alongside SAT preparation rather than instead of it, so we build the plan around your school's calendar too.

How it works

Diagnostic, plan, mock, repeat

  1. 01

    Sit a diagnostic

Before anything else, one full timed practice test in Bluebook. It sets the baseline and shows exactly which question types, on which section, are costing the points right now.

  2. 02

    Meet your mentor

We match a mentor who sat this test a few years ago, scored highly on it, and knows the section your child needs most. We then run a first session within days of getting in touch.

  3. 03

    Work the error log

Every session targets the list the mocks produce, with a fresh full mock at intervals so the score line is something you can actually see move, rather than guess at.

FAQ

SAT preparation in Abu Dhabi, answered

  • 01

How much does SAT tutoring cost in Abu Dhabi?

SAT preparation is charged at the high-school rate: AED 180 per hour at the Commitment rate, or AED 200 Flexible. Every price includes 5% VAT, and in-person lessons add AED 30 each. Full details are on our pricing page.

  • 02

Is the SAT still a paper test?

No. The SAT is taken digitally in the College Board's Bluebook app. It runs two hours and fourteen minutes and has two sections (Reading and Writing, and Math), each scored 200 to 800 for a total of 400 to 1600. It also adapts its difficulty between modules, includes a built-in Desmos calculator, and carries no penalty for a wrong answer.

  • 03

When should my child start SAT prep?

There is no single right time to start. It depends on the target score, the current level and how many months remain before the test date. Starting later is still worth doing: it simply changes the job from building skills to protecting the score already there and fixing the most expensive habits first.

  • 04

Do you guarantee a score increase?

No, and we would be careful with anyone who does. What we give you instead is a measured baseline from a real timed mock and regular mocks you can see the trend in. We also give an honest read on whether the target score is realistic in the time left before the test date.

  • 05

Are lessons online or in person?

Both. We teach in person across Abu Dhabi and online anywhere in the UAE. Because the test itself is taken on a computer, online sessions are not a compromise for SAT work: they are the closer rehearsal of what test day actually feels like.

  • 06

    Who are the mentors?

Top university students and recent graduates from universities including AUS, AUD, AUB, CUD and NYUAD. They sat this exact test themselves a few years ago and scored highly on it before ever teaching it. Read more about how we select mentors.
