What makes the difference

Two American schools, and both of them also run the IB
The capital is unusual here. The American Community School has been in Abu Dhabi since 1972 and moved to Saadiyat after fifty years in Al Bateen, and GEMS American Academy opened in 2011, and both offer the IB Diploma alongside the American high school diploma and Advanced Placement. So a Grade 11 student in Abu Dhabi is often weighing two routes at once, and the SAT has to be planned around whichever one they are actually on. We ask before the first lesson rather than assume.

Mocks in Bluebook, on the machine it will be taken on
Practice tests are sat inside Bluebook, with the built-in Desmos calculator, the annotation tool and answer elimination all switched on. The test is adaptive: each section is two modules, and how the first one goes decides which second module the app serves, which is where the top of the range is decided. A paper score in a quiet room rehearses none of that, so we do not produce one.

The error log, not another pass through the syllabus
After each mock we write down what actually went wrong: the question type, whether it was careless or conceptual, and how long it took. The next sessions go straight at that list. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer on this test, so we also work on the part students find hardest, which is abandoning a question on purpose and spending the minute somewhere it pays.

Both sections, and the strategy over them
Reading & Writing
Craft and structure, information and ideas, expression of ideas and standard English conventions, all against the clock. The passages are short and the questions come fast, so careful readers still run out of time before running out of ability. Pacing is taught alongside the content.
Math
Algebra, advanced maths, problem solving and data analysis, geometry and trigonometry, with Desmos used deliberately rather than reached for out of habit. We teach when the calculator saves time and when working it out by hand is faster, because the difference is worth real marks.
Full mock tests
Complete Bluebook practice tests, sat under full exam timing on a screen, scored the same way the real test scores them and then broken down question by question. A mock only earns its place once it becomes a list of exactly what to fix next.
Score strategy
Pacing across both modules, when to flag a question and return to it later, and when to guess and move on. The target total score is actually built out of the two separate section scores rather than chased as one number.
Reading and Writing is 54 questions in 64 minutes. Math is 44 questions in 70 minutes, with the calculator available throughout. We cover both sections in full, plus the timing and guessing decisions on test day that quietly cost families the marks a strong student should never lose.

Which crossing sits between you and the mentor
Mentors come to homes on Saadiyat, Al Reem and Yas, and in Al Raha, Khalifa City, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Al Nahyan, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. The capital is islands joined by a handful of bridges, so the honest question is never the distance, it is which crossing is between you. SAT sessions run long, and an hour lost on a bridge comes straight out of the lesson, so we match on the crossing before we match on anything else. In the last weeks the same mentor moves online and the slot does not move.

Where our Abu Dhabi SAT students go to school
The American Community School on Saadiyat, roughly 1,300 students from more than eighty countries, and GEMS American Academy, both of which put students through Advanced Placement and the IB Diploma. Alongside them, students at the capital's British sixth forms who are applying to the United States as well as the United Kingdom and need the SAT on top of A-Levels. That second group is a real Abu Dhabi pattern and it needs a different plan, because the SAT is sitting on top of a full A-Level timetable rather than inside an American one. Diagnostic, plan, mock, repeat

Start with a real one
A full timed test in Bluebook comes before any plan is written. It gives the baseline, and it names the question types on each section that are costing points today.

We name the mentor
Somebody who sat this test recently, scored highly on it, and knows the weaker section. First session within days, on your island or online.

Then work the log
Sessions go straight at what the last mock exposed, and a fresh full mock at intervals keeps the score line visible instead of theoretical.

How much does SAT tutoring cost in Abu Dhabi?
The high school rate applies, whatever the school or the route: AED 180 per hour on Commitment, AED 200 on Flexible, both including 5% VAT. Add AED 40 when the mentor comes to you. Everything is listed on the pricing page.

Is the SAT still a paper test?
No, and it has not been for some time. The whole thing happens in the College Board's Bluebook app: two hours fourteen minutes, a Reading and Writing section and a Math section, 200 to 800 each and 400 to 1600 together. It adapts between modules, the Desmos calculator is on screen throughout, and a wrong answer costs nothing beyond the mark. Preparation that ignores any of that is money spent on the old test.

When should my child start SAT prep?
It depends on the target, the current level and how many months are left, so there is no one answer. What matters more in the capital is what else is on the timetable: an IB Diploma year and an SAT campaign at once need a different shape from an American diploma with AP. Tell us the route and we will say plainly how long it needs.

Do you guarantee a score increase?
No. Anyone promising a number has not seen your child's baseline. What we commit to is a measured starting point from a full timed mock, repeat mocks that show the direction of travel, and telling you honestly if the target is out of reach in the time available rather than selling the hours anyway.

Are lessons online or in person?
Either. In person anywhere in the capital, from Saadiyat and Yas to Mussafah, at AED 40 more per lesson, and online everywhere else in the UAE. For the SAT in particular, online is not second best: the test itself is taken on a screen, so working on one rehearses the real thing, and it saves the bridge.
